MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Orpheum Theatre has announced Camp Say Across the USA, a free, two-day camp to help children who stutter.

The camp is open to children ages eight to 18, according to a release from the Orpheum.

The event will take place Nov. 21 and 22.

This year’s camp has been redesigned as an online platform to accommodate the evolving needs of young people who stutter.
The camp is in partnership with SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young.

The interactive day camp prioritizes connections, collaboration and fun, according to the release.

The camp offers games and activities that encourage communication, creativity and teamwork.

Campers will work together in small groups to create original artistic pieces such as short plays, comedy skits, poems, songs, dances and visual art to share with the larger group.

Each child can decide whether or not they wish to show their project to the group, according to the release.

The camp will take place via Zoom.

Activity packs will be mailed to each camper or made available for pick up.
