Welcome to www.SAY.org, owned and operated by The Stuttering Association for the Young (“SAY” or “our” or “we” or “us”). At SAY, your privacy is important to use. This Privacy Policy explains the use of SAY.org, and any of its sub-domains and other web sites operated by The Stuttering Association for the Young (collectively, the “Site”) and SAY’s online information-gathering practices. The Privacy Policy describes how the Site collects, uses, and shares Personally Identifiable Information and other non-Personally Identifiable Information obtained from and about individuals who visit the Site. Please note that this Privacy Policy applies only to our online information-gathering and dissemination practices, and does not apply to any of our practices conducted offline. SAY offers information and activities including, but not limited to, offers, newsletters, and other promotions. We give visitors to SAY.org the opportunity to submit stories via the MyStutter Blog and Camp SAY Blog and to participate in other current and anticipated activities (including but not limited to making a donation through the Site).

Agreement to This Privacy Policy and Privacy Policy Modifications: By using the Site, you are agreeing to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, or any of its terms, please do not access or use the Site, or provide your Personally Identifiable Information, for example, your name, address, email address or other information, through the Site. This Privacy Policy may be revised or changed and when such changes occur, we will post updates on this page to keep our visitors informed of any material changes and their respective effective date(s). Visitors to our Site should review this Privacy Policy periodically to be up-to-date on the Site’s most current privacy policies and practices.

SUMMARY

The notifications provided by this Privacy Policy include:

Collection of Your Personal Identifiable Information and Other Non-Personally Identifiable Information: The Site is intended to provide a unique experience for users without requiring them to submit any more Personally Identifiable Information than is necessary to participate in the activities that may be offered, or to use the Site effectively. We currently do not require users to register or submit Personally Identifiable Information in order to visit the Site. Some activities on the Site may be performed without providing Personally Identifiable Information. When we ask for Personally Identifiable Information to participate in an activity we will not require anyone to disclose more Personally Identifiable Information than we believe is reasonably necessary to participate in the activity.

THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Personal Information You Provide: The Site allows you to send your name, email address, postal address, phone number, credit card billing information, and other personal information of your choice (“Personally Identifying Information”) to SAY on a voluntary basis, as more particularly described below. Please do not send sensitive or confidential information to us directly through the Site. Registration and/or input of Personally Identifiable Information may be required to participate in activities such as, but not limited to, offers, newsletters, and other promotions, to submit a story for the MyStutter Blog, and to participate in fund raising activities or to make a donation or purchase. If Personally Identifiable Information is requested for participation in an activity, you cannot participate without disclosing the requested Personally Identifiable Information, but you may always elect not to participate in any activity offered on our Site.

Program Applications and Account Registration: We use the services of CampMinder to manage inquiries, applications and enrollments for Camp SAY and other SAY programs. When you submit an application for your child to attend Camp SAY or other SAY programs through the CampMinder application, we will collect Personally Identifying Information about you and your child in order to process your child’s application. Such information may include social security numbers and certain financial information needed to process applications for financial aid. You will also be asked to create an account on CampMinder in order to manage your child’s application, enrollment, and attendance in SAY’s programs. Camp SAY staff may be asked to create an account on CampMinder and to submit Personally Identifying Information through CampMinder in connection with their application and employment, including social security numbers. Because CampMinder will also have access to this information, we encourage you to review their privacy policy, at https://say.campintouch.com/v2/privacyPolicy.html.

Donations and Purchases: Donations and/or purchases made through our Site, or our activity administrator’s sites, may require disclosure of your Personally Identifiable Information, including your credit card information, and information about the name and address of the person receiving the purchase(s) or in whose name a donation is made. SAY may use the services of one or more third party vendors to administer your purchase or donation. For example, SAY donation transactions are administered by a separate entity named Blackbaud, a firm that specializes in donation processing and maintains its own privacy and security policies. We encourage you to review their privacy policy, at www.blackbaud.com/company/privacy-policy/north-america. During transactions, your credit card information may be subject to verification by the issuing credit card company or other company. Shipping information will be shared with the shipping company. Sales and shipping records and donation records will also be generated and maintained by SAY. This information will not be used for any purpose except the fulfillment and record keeping of a donation, purchase and/or other authorized transaction. The credit card billing information that you provide at the time of a donation or purchase is used only to process your transaction and will not be stored for longer than is reasonably necessary to do so.

Mailing Lists: If you sign up to join our mailing lists, we will ask you to provide your email address. You may unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time by using the link in any email you receive from us.

Speaker Request: If you request a speaker through the Site, we will ask you to provide your organization’s name, and your first and last name, email address and phone number, as well as relevant details about the event at which you would like a speaker to appear.

My Stutter Blog: We make available the My Stutter Blog ( the “Blog”) through the Site. You may submit your personal story through the Blog. In order to do so, you will be asked to provide your first and last name and email address, and to indicate whether you are between the ages of 13 and 17, or 18 years of age or older. You may also have the option to upload a personal photograph. Children under 13 may not submit their own story through the Blog, but a parent or guardian may do so on their behalf. Children between the ages of 13 and 17 are asked to provide the email address of parent or guardian order to submit their story through the Blog. SAY will review all submissions provided through the Blog, and will select certain submissions for publication. We also provide the ability for you to comment on our Blog. In order to leave a comment on one our blog, you will be required to login through your Disqus, Facebook, Twitter, or Google+ account. Please do not provide your own or another person’s sensitive or confidential information through the Blog, and please do not use another person’s full name or other identifying information without their permission.

Non-Personal Information We Collect by Automated Means: Additionally, we automatically log certain non-personally identifying information through third-party providers, which we use to help analyze how users use the Site. These third-party providers may employ cookies, web beacons, or other online tools to collect aggregate and anonymized standard Internet log information and visitor behavior information. The information logged may include the IP address of your computer, your browser type and operating system, type of mobile device used to access the website (if applicable), entry and exit points for our Website (referring URLS or domains), your location by country, site traffic statistics, and page views. This aggregate information generally will not be associated with any Personally Identifying Information that you provide, or be used to personally identify you, or correlated to you individually for external purposes. This information may be used to evaluate visitors’ use of the Site, to compile aggregate statistical reports on activity on the Site for SAY, and to provide other services relating to activity on the Site and internet usage, which we may use to improve our Site. Our third-party providers may retain aggregate, anonymized data gathered from the Site.

WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION:

We may also use the Personally Identifiable Information that you provide to us in order to (i) notify you of important changes to Site functions, (ii) to respond to queries and requests for information submitted through the Site, including requests to subscribe to our mailing list, (iii) to validate comments and publish stories submitted to our blog, (iv) to process donations and purchases made through the Site, and (v) to process program and Camp SAY applications and enrollment, and to process Camp SAY staff applications. We may also use your Personally Identifiable Information to help personalize and enhance our Site and your Site experience, to send you personalized information about our Site via email, and to contact you for feedback regarding the Site.

We may maintain records of Personally Identifying Information you provide to us, and we may use your information to contact you, if necessary. If you provide us with your email address, or subscribe to our mailing list, we may from time to time send you emails or other communications that we believe may be of interest to you. If you make a donation or purchase through the Site, your information will be added to one or more of our donor lists and databases only if you affirmatively “opt-in,” in which case, you will be contacted about SAY activities, news, and/or fundraising campaigns. You may at any time “opt-out” from receiving future communications from SAY by using the “unsubscribe” link provided in every email communication, or by sending an email to info@SAY.org. Please also note that even if you opt out of receiving promotional emails from us or third parties, we may still use your Personally Identifiable Information to communicate with you for other purposes, such as, but not limited to, notifying you if you are participating in other activities when we believe communication is necessary.

Disclosure of Personally Identifying Information: The Personally Identifying Information we collect from you may be disclosed to and retained by third-party service providers who provide tools and services that enable us to process information received, to send newsletters and information about SAY’s activities and fundraising campaigns which we believe will be of interest to you, and to provide other services which may improve our Site or enhance the user experience. Additionally, your Personally Identifying Information may be shared with third parties who administer the activity conducted through the Site (e.g. shipping companies that may deliver a product). We will inform you at the time we are collecting the Personally Identifiable Information that such information collection is a requirement for participation (again you can choose not to participate in any activity at any time).

Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy, we will not disclose your Personally Identifying Information to third parties. However, we reserve the right to disclose Personally Identifying Information that you provide to us – and any non-personal information that is automatically collected by automated means when you use the Site – to our employees, contractors, agents, designees or others in order to enable them to respond to your queries, to process online donations and purchases on our behalf, to process online program applications and enrollments, or to provide services related to your use of the Site, such as Site or server maintenance.

Additionally, we reserve the right to disclose your Personally Identifying Information where we believe we are required to do so for any of the following reasons: (i) to comply with a subpoena, legal process, or government request; (ii) to comply with a legal obligation; (iii) to prevent, investigate, or prosecute any attack on the Site or on the SAY network; and/or to protect the rights or property of SAY, visitors to the Site, or the public. In the event that SAY merges with another nonprofit, or transfers its assets to another nonprofit in the course of a dissolution or asset sale, we reserve the right to disclose any information to the successor nonprofit.

Opting Out-Continued Personally Identifiable Information Use: If you opt out of the use of your Personally Identifiable Information, we may still use your Personally Identifiable Information for internal purposes, or as may be necessary to administer the Site; for example, sharing that data with those persons or entities that administer the Site. Additionally, we reserve the right to disclose your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with the section entitled “Disclosure of Personally Identifying Information” above. If you wish to amend your decisions to “opt-out” or to “opt-in” as applicable, you can contact us at info@SAY.org.

Safety and Security: We take reasonable steps to help ensure that the information provided by you, whether Personally Identifiable Information or non-Personally Identifiable Information, is treated securely. We have implemented technical, administrative, and other security measures to protect visitor information from unauthorized access and improper use. From time to time, we review our security procedures in order to consider appropriate new technology and methods. Please be aware though that despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. If you share your computer or use a computer that is accessed by the general public, remember to sign off and close your browser window when you have finished your session. This will help to ensure that others cannot access your Personally Identifiable Information.

No data transmission over the Internet, however, can be guaranteed to be totally secure. While we try to protect your Personally Identifiable Information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us. You use the Site, and provide us with Personally Identifiable Information, at your own risk. To the extent reasonably necessary to protect a user’s safety, we may collect his or her name, address, and/or email address. To protect our security, to protect us against liability, or as required by law, we may collect a user’s name and email address. Personally Identifiable Information collected pursuant to this provision will not be used for any unauthorized purpose.

Children’s Privacy: We will not knowingly accept, collect, or disclose Personally Identifiable Information about individuals under the age of 13. Should we find that we have unknowingly accepted/collected such information we will use reasonable efforts to remove the information from our files. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 years of age and believe that they have disclosed Personally Identifying Information to us, please contact us at info@SAY.org so that we may delete your child’s information.
