In this supportive space, everyone has as much time as they need to speak, and everyone is encouraged to share their creative, unique, and extraordinary ideas and imagination. We invite participants to connect with other young people who stutter and make original artistic creations in an environment where it is really, REALLY okay to stutter!
Enrollment is now open! Don’t miss the chance to join this transformative program in New York City.
Confident Voices kicks off this year with the return of the Songwriting Project! This 8-week program, led by SAY’s Artistic Director Travis Robertson and professional actor Danielle Leneé, under the guidance of SAY’s Music Director Everett Bradley, invites participants to explore their imagination through songwriting. SAY’s Teaching Artists and Musicians engage with music in many forms (pop, rap, spoken word, etc.) as a vehicle to empower young people’s self-expression, and no musical background or experience is required to participate.
By the end of the program, participants not only have an original piece of music that they have created, but their pieces will also be fully produced for a live band. Everyone will then have the opportunity to share their work on stage at an NYC music venue with friends, family, and our extended SAY community. Our aim is that through music, young people can experience the joy of connection and the confidence that comes from being heard and celebrated just as they are.
This program is free of charge and begins September 27th!
Enrollment for the Fall session will close on October 11th. Reserve your spot now for a September start to get the full advantage of this program.
Before joining SAY, our son wasn’t fully participating in school. After a few months at SAY, his teachers noticed a big difference. Now, he’s beaming with confidence. What a change."
SAY offers comprehensive programming options to kids & teens who stutter (ages 5-18), both locally in NYC and nationally.
